Salish is built for enjoying and exploring coastal waters. She is self-bailing, and by virtue of this, will handle conditions that open boats like "Fine" or the cosine wherry may not. Salish is 18 feet LOA and 34 inches in beam and is completely sealed by a deck just below the seat tracks and above the waterline. The footwell is designed to clear itself using the surge of the boat as you row, with an angled rear bulkhead feeding any water onto the deck and out the stern. There are four separate watertight chambers making up the hull and three have access hatches for ventilation and storage. The sternmost chamber has a drain plug to clear it.
Salish can be built for you for 6800.00CAD including carbon fibre composite oars. Build time is two and a half months, and price is FOB my shop, or with delivery to Vancouver.
